Le Bonheur celebrated its 58th birthday with a Grand Opening celebration for its new hospital. Inventure Design is proud to be the interior experts for the new tower and congratulates Le Bonheur on 58 years of outstanding pediatric care.
AIA Sandcastle Success
Thanks to TELIOS Engineers for partnering with IDG for the annual American Institute of Architects (AIA) Sandcastle competition in Galveston, Texas. The event, which raises money for the AIA foundation, education and scholarships drew a huge crowd and media attention.

SMPS Methodist Hospital Tour
To support SMPS, Society for Marketing Professional Services, IDG recently attended the Methodist Outpatient Care Center Hard Hat Tour. We are thrilled to see the progress our client has made and will continue our efforts to renovate and expand Houston's medical community.

Inventure Supports TCH "Topping Out"
Texas Children's Hospital celebrated the "Topping Out" of their new Maternity Center with a formal ceremony sponsored by W.S. Bellows. This ceremony marks the completion of a building's structural frame and is celebrated by hoisting a tree onto the roof, thus "topping out". Inventure's healthcare design team is proud to be a part of this incredible addition to the world class medical care provided here in Houston.
TCH Wins Owner of the Year
Congratulations to Texas Children's Hospital, Texas Construction Magazine's 2010 Texas Owner of the Year. Inventure Design is proud to have contributed design solutions to both the Feigin Center and Maternity Center expansions that were included in this $1.5-billion building campaign.

IIDA Product Runway Success!
Team Inventure won "Most Sustainable Design" at the 2010 IIDA Product Runway Event. Principal James W.O'Neill modeled a custom garment, reflecting a military grunge style, designed by Sara Lewis, Heather Rogers, Tracy Smith and Natalie Skrobarczyk. Proceeds from the event benefit the Houston Furniture Bank.

Inventure Principal Joins Rice Building Institute
James W. O'Neill has been elected to the Board of Directors for the Rice University Building Institute (RBI). RBI is dedicated to researching and teaching the practices and tools of leadership in A/E/C project delivery. The mission of the RBI is to orchestrate the private sector’s search for improved A/E/C industry performance while fashioning effective interface with the students and faculty of our schools of architecture and engineering.

Our firm is cutting, sewing and constructing our garment for IIDA's 2010 Product Runway on April 14th. Product Runway pairs a Design Team with a Manufacturer and challenges them to use unconventional materials in constructing a runway-worthy garment. Enjoy our progress photos! Event details HERE.

Feigin Center Praised by R&D Magazine
Inventure Design's Feigin Center project, of Texas Children's Hospital, has won Honorable Mention for the 2010 Lab of the Year Award for R&D Magazine. This is only one of two awards given out and we are proud to be a part of this trend setting project.
Firm Supports Hug-a-Bear
Inventure Design proudly supports IFMA's Hug-a-Bear drive for children in crisis. The Hug-a-Bear drive provides cuddly stuffed animals for HPD officers to give to children faced with frightening situations, whether it be a car accident or domestic violence.

Inventure Design recently participated in the "We Care" in conjunction with the Boys & Girls Club, which provides a fun-filled, no-cost night of arts and crafts for area children.

Donated Design Applauded by Texas Children's Hospital
Inventure Design is pleased to announce our participation in Texas Children's Hospital's Feigin Memorial Library. Our firm has donated our design services and will be teaming with WS Bellows and a family donor to honor Dr. Feigin and his 30+ years at Texas Children's Hospital.

Feigin Center Named Best Research Project by Texas Construction
Feigin Center has been named Best Research Project of 2009 by Texas Construction magazine, and will be featured in the December issue. In addition to winning its category, it received one of the highest scores of the competition —making it one of the five finalists for the top award. It will be submitted in the National Best of Awards, competing with the top projects from other regions.

OHA Announces Name Change
O’Neill Hill and Associates, a Houston-based interior architectural design firm, has become Inventure Design.
With the departure of principal Mollie Hill, O’Neill Hill has re-launched as Inventure Design. Inventure Design has retained all of O’Neill Hill’s associates and will continue to add talent to their high-profile team.
James O’Neill, principal of Inventure Design, said, “This year was our best ever and we start our new venture in a strong financial position, prepared to help our clients with the new realities of the global economy.”
Inventure Design plans to assist clients with corporate strategies and facility optimization, while focusing on integrated, creative and client-based design.
“The change is an opportunity to reengage our clients in designing solutions that enhance their lives,” O’Neill said.
Through their focus on commercial and healthcare clients, Inventure Design offers full-service consultation and design services for highly technical spaces, image-defining corporate headquarters and budget-driven renovations.
New Marketing Coordinator
Natalie Skrobarczyk has been named as the Marketing Coordinator for Inventure Design. Skrobarczyk is a Texas A&M University alumna and currently resides in Pearland, Texas.
2009 IIDA Student Conference
Inventure Design has committed to a top sponsorship at the 2009 IIDA Student Conference on February 26th and 27th. Students from 17 universities will participate in charrette competitions, Houston city tours, “Real Life Topic” presentations and attend a presentation by the keynote speaker.
