Texas Children's Hospital Clinical Care Center
The tight, urban site precluded outdoor play areas, so we internalized this feature by creating bright, colorful, and durable play spaces out of the interiors. These cost-effective forms and colors are used throughout the public spaces to aid in way-finding and to separate spaces. We also established a unified institutional identity that differentiates itself from other medical facilities. In contrast to the strong colors, fresh white finishes create spaces that feel clinically clean and appropriate, yet uplifting.
